Work on proper extension, movement sequences, port de bras and balance with an increase in difficulty in barre and center work. Pre-pointe and pointe focus on foot strength and suppleness.

Join the Bike Club!

The Carol Stream Parks Foundation bike club accommodates all skill groups. Each bike ride leaves from the Simkus Recreation Center the second Thursday of the month at 6pm and the fourth Saturday of the month at 9am. Bike Club rides twice a month, May through October. Bike rides are led by one of our guides. All proceeds go to the Carol Stream Parks Foundation.

EVP professionals focus on the fundamentals of passing, setting and spiking in this 4-day camp. Kids improve hand/eye coordination and left/right coordination through the use of fun drills and games. Learn about breeds, colors and marking of horses, along with the proper ways to groom, tack and handle horses. In the saddle, learn the basics of riding at the walk and trot. Campers should wear jeans or riding pants, and hard-soled riding or hiking boots with a small, low heel. Bring an approved riding or bicycle helmet and sack lunch.

High School Baseball

Father's Day Fishing Derby

8:30 - 11 am

Start Father's Day off right by bringing Dad to the annual Fishing Derby at Bierman Park. Enjoy a light breakfast by the pond and try to catch the 'big one'. Prizes to be awarded to participants who catch the largest fish in each of the age categories (including dads!). Bring your own fishing poles, bait and hooks. Catch and release is to be practiced.

Check in begins at 8:00am, fishing concludes at 11:00am. Due to COVID guidelines award ceremony may be livestreamed.

All participants must register. There is no fee for fathers.

Beginning Drum Lessons
